A Little About Easy Quilting Central

Hi Y'all. I taught myself how to quilt from the Quilt in a Day Log Cabin book book about five years ago. Since then, I've been hooked.

Finishing that first quilt proved that

1) I could quilt.

OK. This was not a given. My sewing experience to that point consisted of making a pair of shorts. I did not even have one Home Economics class under my belt.

2) I could make a pretty quilt

I was thinking that like most beginner craft projects, this would find its way to the back of a closet or donated to the local Goodwill.

In fact, my first finished quilt was a Christmas present. I would not suggest doing something similar, but hey it was nice enough to give away.

Not bad for a beginner's work.

3) I could finish a quilt in a reasonable amount of time.

I had heard of stories of women working months on quilts. Honestly? I just don't have that kind of patience.

But when I finished that nice quilt top in a couple of days, I thought that wow I might really be on to something.

Since then, I'm all about making easy and beautiful quilts. If there is a shortcut, I'll find it. If there is a way of making a simple pattern interesting by changing the colors, I will try it.

I discovered that folks like me can produce gorgeous quilts.

And hence began my epic quest - to help as many people as possible enjoy the great hobby of quilting. My goal is for this to be the place for beginner quilters on the web.

I just want to let folks know that if they want to learn how to quilt, they can. That's it.

So, stop by, put your feet up and look around. This site is for you.
